The Jewel in the Wound: How the Body Expresses the Needs of the Psyche and Offers a Path to Transformation
Published in Paperback by Chiron Pubns (November, 2001)
Author: Rose-Emily Rothenberg
Average review score:

Brave work of inner exploration, healing, self-knowledge
Rothenberg's book works on many levels, as brilliant self analysis, exploration of the orphan's psychology, the mind-body connection, and early childhood trauma. It is also a moving memoir that stands on its own. Jewel in the Wound is a tremendous template for anyone beginning or engaged in any kind of self-analysis or therapy. Rothenberg's gift to us is her psychological knowledge combined with her willingness to reveal how that knowledge helps her confront her own psychological scars (literal and otherwise).

Joy of Life
Published in Paperback by Buy Books on the web.com (2000)
Author: Emily T. Withrow
Average review score:

Joy of reading!
Ok lame title for the review, but it really is a great book to sit down and read. Page after page you get drawn into the world of the Lohan's and Taylor's. You'll find yourself in the pubs listening to the jigs, drinking the guiness and singing along.

You'll cringe at the thought of Benjamin Taylor, cheer for Aida, Faith and Sara, and cry when...well I am not going to tell you when you'll cry, but you will.

Sit back, pull up the covers and prepare to be transported into a world all its own! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up here from the Dark Side Of The Moon!

My all time favorite readaloud!
This is a wonderful book, beautifully written and illustrated. It is a real discussion sparker that will get older children talking about honesty and values. It is a riveting, universal folktale with a terrific message about doing the right thing. Highly recommended, by me.

Kick Your "But" : 18 Steps for Removing the Obstacles to Sales Success
Published in Paperback by Riverwood Press (01 October, 2000)
Author: Emily Huling
Average review score:

Good Training Tool for Sales Professionals
But . . . but . . . but ....

Isn't it interesting how we always find an excuse not to do something that we really should do. The reasons are always there. To get past that problem, invest time to learn what to, then get out there and do it.

This book is a compilation of questions that salespeople ask about what they think is getting in their way, blocking their path to success. Chapters are short, pithy, and focused. Beginning salespeople will find this book to be a helpful tool. Those with some experience will benefit from reminders about things we forget, that allow us to become complacent. Kick Your "But" could be a useful text for sales training sessions, building instruction and discussion from each chapter.

The chapter headings include how do I find more prospects, are your prospects right for you, and how do I overcome call reluctance. Other questions address are how do I prioritize and track all these prospects, are some sales too good to be true, and how do I handle negotiations?

Sales success challenges, like homework assignments, at the end of each chapter stimulate the reader to explore how the subject relates personally. These challenges extend the learning.

Standing alone, the book will be helpful for beginners. With other activities, the book is a tool to stimulate further learning for professional salespeople.

Let's Go Map Guide Rome (Let's Go Map Guides)
Published in Paperback by St. Martin's Press (March, 1997)
Authors: Emily M. Tucker, Alejandro Sepulveda, St Martins Press, Harvard Student's, and Vandam
Average review score:

Great Map
We bought this map and the "Eyewitness.." map of Rome. The "Let's Go.." was preferred by the group - more detail, easier to read. Both maps lack up-to-date info on the expanded metro, so be sure to get a paper map also when you arrive.

Lighthouses
Published in Hardcover by Friedman/Fairfax Publishing (July, 1999)
Authors: James Ward Hyland, Emily Zelner, and Valerie Kennedy
Average review score:

Very good book- an awesome picture on every page
I'd recommend this brand new and excellent coffee table book to anyone interested in lighthouses. it's not really a book to "read", it's just pictures of lighthouses. but the pics are GREAT! There are pics of the lighthouses in Cape May, Cape Cod, Assateague, Portland, Frankfurt, and more. Get this book if you like lighthouses.

Little Red Riding Hood
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (September, 2000)
Authors: Harriet Ziefert and Emily Bolam
Average review score:

Excellent Author-Top Notch Book
Zeifert proves once again that she is the premiere author for the first grade set. The words and sentences have a later first grade readability. The story is the original one that we have been accustomed to, even to the point of the wolf eating Little Red herself. She comes out OK in the end. I read it to my daughter and she loved it. As a licensed literacy specialist, I review books for this age group and highly recommend it.
